Vladimir Ashkenazy, one of the greatest names in world classical music, returns to Barcelona. This time he offers us two of the finest French works of the early 20th century: Ravel's Pavane, with its highly characteristic archaic colour, and Debussy’s La Mer (The Sea), considered an essential work of symphonic music and a challenge for any conductor.

The first part contains two scores by Prokofiev, noteworthy being the brilliant and virtuoso Concerto No. 2 in the hands of violin legend Boris Belkin. His recording of this work is still considered a benchmark and, at the age of 70, he continues to perform his art to audiences around the world. Three great names of Russian music - composer, conductor and soloist - accompanied by the OBC.

PROKOFIEV: Pushkin Waltzes, Op. 120
PROKOFIEV: Concerto for violin and orchestra No. 2 in G minor, Op. 63
RAVEL: Pavane for a Dead Princess
DEBUSSY: La Mer (The Sea)
